About goEco!
I must admit that I am a little more of a hippy than I like people to believe. I like to justify myself by only sharing certain of the positive beliefs. This might not be enough to justify a true hippy title, but it seems as though some like to assign it to me nonetheless. Hippies are mostly known for the drugs and anti war but are also known for being more green than the average dude. I am pretty much against the concept of war, and although I'm not a personal drug abuser I do have my issues with certain drug banning but that's the topic of another debate. I'm here to focus on the green aspect of the hippies, I believe we're doing some serious damage to our planet and although I'm not sure how bad it really is, it certainly can't hurt to make a conscientous effort to make it better. I have recently bought a house and although a house makes a rather large footprint, I'm trying to find ways to diminish my effects on the earth. As I learn I have decided to share the information that I've put together. This will come in the form of information, links to other sites, manufacturers whatever I found useful and think that you migh need one day. That being said, I hope you find something useful on my site and if possible take some of the tips to transform your way of thinking even if only a little. If you would like to share some of your knowledge and contribute to the site, drop me a line.
Mission Statement
It would be quite easy to say that my goal is to save the planet, but one has to be realistic in life and understand that one single person can't do that. This isn't me being pessimistic, it's simply me being honest with myself and trying to set attainable goals. It would also spark the debate whether or not the planet is in serious crisis, is global warming for real. For me the real answer to that isn't as important as the what can I do to make the planet better. And for this nobody can argue we can all do something and if global warming is for real then we're heading on the right track, and if it's not, well heck, we've still done a pretty darned good thing.
Bottom line is I want to spread the knowledge that I've acquired and am still acquiring in order to make our planet a cleaner and better place to live.
